ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MEDIA

The First Assembly of Croatian Chamber of Architects (CCA) was held on 19th of June 2009 at 12 o'clock, at „Preporodna dvorana palače Narodnog doma HAZU“ in Zagreb. The Croatian Chamber of Architects is a successor of the Department of Architects, that is its constituent part from the foundation of Croatian Chamber of Architects and Civil Engineers in 1998.
The Assemby attended and speech was held by many local and foreign guests – personal Croatian premier's delegate - architect Jerko Rošin, delegate of Minister of Physical Planning and Construction Marina Matulović Dropulić, Secretary of State Josipa Blažević-Perušić, personal delegate of the President of Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Academician Milan Moguš, Academician Velimir Neidhardt, President of Croatian Chamber of Architects and Civil Engineers Tomislav Tkalčić, Deputy President of the International Union of Architects (UIA) for the Region II Lisa Siola, President of the Construction Employers Assotiation of Croatia Zdenko Karakaš, Secretary of European Forum for Architectual Policies (EFAP) David Vernet and Secretary General of the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE) Alain Sagne.
In the ceremonious part of the Assembly certificates of appreciation were assigned to the individuals and institutions for an outstanding contribution to the establishment of the independent Croatian Chamber of Architects, therefore to: Academician Velimir Neidhardt, professor Boris Morsan, Croatian Architects' Assotiation (CAA), Minister Marina Matulović Dropulić, Jerko Rošin, Ivan Franić, Vinko Penezić, Zlatko Hanžek, Zdravko Mahmet, Helena Knifić Schaps, Vladimir Petrović, the International Union of Architects (UIA), Architects' Council of Europe (ACE) and University of Zagreb's Faculty of Architecture.
In the working part the Assembly was constituted, The First Assembly's Rules of conduct were voted, as well as the Authority of CCA Assignment Decision that will run the Chamber until the election of new authorities (expected in July) and finally the Election of authorities of CCA and Assembly's invitation Decision.
The former president Helena Knifić Schaps presented the path that was passed to the establishment of the Croatian Chamber of Architects as well as the objectives for further activities and development. The accent was put on representing the architecture profession in front of the state, public and foreign institutions, protecting members from any unethical and illegal activity, increasing quality of the built environment and culture of construction, active care for sustainable development, activity protection under recession conditions, foundation of the fund for member assistance with difficulties in doing business activities, implementation of architecture and space culture into National education curriculum, foundation of The house of architecture, foundation of the Center of knowledge and data (Architecture Institute) and declaration of Croatia's architectual policies.
