CURRICULUM VITAE

HELENA KNIFIĆ SCHAPS, B.Sc. Arch. licensed architect

- I was born in Senj in 1952

- I graduated in architecture at the School of Architecture in Zagreb in 1977

- I speak English and German

- From 1977 to 1988 I worked in the design office AGI-46

- 1988 I founded my own office ARH-PROJEKT where I worked with the architect Mario Volović

- My professional field of activity is designing (first prized projects in the competitions for POS - government supported apartments building - Zagreb and Senj facilities had been realized), research work (from 2000 I have been conducting research on the rural architecture of Velebit), technical literature (technical and original scientific articles) and I participate in the work of the committee of judges

- From 1988 I have been exhibiting regularly at the Zagreb Showroom and at the exhibitions called Realizacija UHA (Croatian Association of Architects)

- I am a member of DAZ Assembly (Society of Architects of Zagreb) and of UHA

- From 2001 to 2003 I was the president of the Court of Honour of UHA

- From 2001 to 2005 I was a member of the Department of Architects Board HKAIG (Croatian Chamber of architects and Engineers) and the Committee for Cooperation of Departments of Architects

- I organized and I am about to organize professional trips (Berlin, Trieste, Istanbul)

- I organized the lectures in the framework of the permanent education of architects (Utz Purr, Tilman Prinz, Aleksandar Laslo, Tomislav Premerl)

- as a lecturer I participated in many scientific and technical meetings

- I am actively engaged in the architects’ copyrights protection, I am the author of works on this subject (published in Chamber’s Bulletin, ČIP (Croatian architects monthly), Collected Works of the Assembly of Croatian Architects 2004 and in the Technical Meeting on the ambient condition held in Zagreb in 2003).
